    Umi steering question....

Just got a set for our second ski. (Thanks Bob for pointing me to them) Look good...the bars were a little nasty looking but I took some Mothers to them. Looks like they were around saltwater. (from Florida) It seems like the steering is a little notchy feeling. Does anyone know if the bearings are easily replaceable. I haven't got it pulled apart yet, but that is my guess. Maybe I'll be able to clean them up a bit, but if I can pop out a $10 bearing and replace it I'll go that route. I did email Umi just now, and I'll see if I hear back.

UMI too much $$$$ for a bearing
    Dealer too much $$$$
Bearing house for same bearing is under 10.
    Randy carries them
I think Zigler does as well.
You can punch the bearings out with a punch and hammer then install them with a socket that presses the outer bearing race into the UMI Housing.
Don't push against the inner race or bearing during installation as you will more than likely ruin the bearing.

Cool....figured it should be replaceable. I'll try and pop it apart this weekend.

heres alittle tip when going to remove or install them remove the bars and put the steering assembly in the oven on 300 for about 5-10 minutes after its warmed up and the bearings will fall right out .

I'm still trying to get the arm off of it to get to the bearing. Saltwater sucks.
