Are Yamaha PWC's built in the USA?

If so, what year did they start or are all of them built here. Main reason is looking at importing to Canada and the duty question all depends on if the darn thing is built in North America. Looking at a 2003-2005.

I am pretty sure that the hulls are built and assembled in georgia. engines and any parts with a red tag come from Japan, any parts with a blue tag are made here.

Would the Cerificate of Origin decide the applicable duty question? That is the sort of official document the border folks like to work from.

I do not own a Yamaha, but those who do could tell you what it says on their Certificates, regarding stated manufacturer location.

Thanks for the info! I tried to find some links to see where they were assembled and built be could not find. Easiest way to tell would be to look at a VIN number and if it starts with a USxxxxxxxxx then it was built in the the USA. I just didn't have one close buy to look. Duty's a funny thing. For instance, some BMW's are built in the US and some are built in Germany, so you pay duty only on the ones built in Germany.

At least this way, I can look for a Yammy. I would like to find an 03 or 04 XLT1200 or an FX.

Not really sure, I guess it will depend on the deal. Mostly to tow behind the 5th wheel for the kids to tube behind. Don't need a boat, just something smaller for the odd weekend.

Not all there watercraft are built there! Some are built overseas. Im not sure what models but I do know the 800r was not built in the US (so I assumed the 1300 was the same)

The ones that come to OZ are made in the USA in GA for sure.
