    RR ECU Rev Limit

On the Stock Class ECU, what is the rev limit set to? I thought it was 8500, but was just speaking with a friend of mine and he said he bought one for an 07 RXP and his rev max is 8350.

Has anybody else had a Stock Class Rotax Racing ECU that maxed out at 8350?

    Thanks,

'04-'06 RR Stock Class ECUs all have their rev limiter at 8500, but '07 was set to 8350

Couldn't stop the detonation on the dyno and Riva played a little game with S-D.

the 04/05 stock class ecu has a rev limit of 8500.
the 06/07 stock class ecu has a rev limit of 8350
the limiters are lower than the race ecu's because stock class rules mandate the use of stock valve spring retainers(at least in europe)
the 06/07 limiter is even lower because it has a different stock cam grind that is more prone to valve float than the 04/05's

does that mean that the 04/05 stock cams are actually different then the 06/07 wich are more prone to valve float?

guys in europe are actually running their ski's hard in racing conditions with stock valve springs, retainers that can't be good or is it because you are limited to 8350 rpms you are still safe for valve float?

the best way for sure is doing the switch to the better valve train upgrade for better reliability, wich i totaly agree with, and the best thing to do.
