Thread: RXT Storage

Why in the world did BRP go from 52.6 gallons of storage on the RXT from 2006 to 29.6 gallons just so there is a removeable container? Now I can't get my Remington tactical 870 7 shot on board !!! For Gators and snakes and what have you !!

i have no idea.... very foolish move on their part, i dont know why they went from that huge nice clean front storage to a cheezy bucket slapped in the front that's half the size

Yeah, stupid. I tried to get my dealer to contact BRP about making a RXT-X with the 2006 polyethylene liner but no luck.

Probably because it is cheaper for BRP to manufacture the bucket storage than it is to manufacture and install the storage liner and smaller bucket. Its all about the dollars - cost less to make = more profit.

I know someone who refused to go to an 07 model and give up his 02 because of the storage. He loves the massive amount of storage on his, and didn't understand why they did away with most of it in the newer ski's.

It might have to do with floatation. The smaller front compartment allows for more foam ??
Regardless, the 2007 and 2008 GTX/RXT models storage "containers" suck !!

I agree with everyone. Just remember there is more storage under the bin (2 side pockets)

I haven't seen the storage areas on the new boats so if I'm off base...
The mrs wants me to pick up a front storage tray from an ltd to put in her old ski...'05 RXT. Reason being....on the water she cant reach the bottom of the storage compartment to reach...towels, wet shoes, drinks ect....a removable tray, while reducing capacity in the storage compartment, would allow her to retrieve her gear more easily.
This isn't what BRP's done though....I suppose?
After re-reading....they've left off the liner....and only used a tray? hmph...cheap bastards.
Something I'd thought about doing instead of a tray inside the liner was to rig up a net stretched across the opening, half way down or whatever....either to keep stuff on the bottom from bouncing around or keep stuff from at the top from falling to the bottom. A similar set-up I imagine could be run around the inside under the tray....No?
