01 Kawasaki Ultra 150 - My First Post
After watching ebay on a number of different skis I found what I think to be a great deal. An ebay auction with little content and few pictures. They dont know what is wrong except it needs motor. I looked up the value and found that even after putting a motor in this unit I would be sitting great. So the auction ended Friday the 10th at about 3pm. I left the house at 8:30pm to drive 500 miles to pick it up. At about 4:30am I am 60 miles from the ski. I get a room and wake up about 11am. I go and check out the ski and everything looks great. I am hoping it is just something like a starter or something. I find out that the person listing is not the owner. So we have to wait until the owner gets off work. This was boring but I had to wait. While waiting the guy tells me this was his friends ski and he went to jail. His dad had took the seat off to charge the battery and it rained in the ski. The plugs were in so it filled up with water. It has been put up for a year and now the motor is locked up. This is a ski with only 47 hours on it. I paid only 1100 for this ski with a trailer. At 930 PM on the 11th I had titles in hand after waiting for a number of things including after hours notary. 1130pm I drove off and 7:15am on the 12th I am back home after 1056 miles.

Ok well lets hope there isnt water still sitting inside it. You are probably going to have to do atleast a partial tear down. If it has water in it you are probably going to need a crank or have yours rebuilt. You may want to start by pulling the carbs and reeds. You could look in the bottom end from there and see if there is water or any damage at all. Post pics we can help you out from looking at those.

Thanks so much for the pdf and help. I will pull the carbs tonight or monday. Thanks for helping as I dont know anything about this machine. I really want to just drop it off at the dealer but I dont want to spend that much money... I will post as soon as I get the pictures.
Thanks so much again...

We will try to keep you out of the steelership. They will just want you to buy a motor from sbt of have them rebuild. Both expensive options. Besides there is no better way to bond with your ski than to start out pulling its guts out

Anything a dealership can do you can do yourself. It might take a bit longer but will without a doubt be cheaper
