    How far south?

I am going to college now and we have spring break starting March 17. I am in Iowa now, so it is way too cold here to ride. I would like to go south for a few days to be able to ride. How far south do I have to go for warm water around that time? (I would rather stay out of salt water) Thanks guys!!

I was riding Lake Idah which is in southern Palm beach county Florida week or so ago and the water was like 67-69 degrees. The lake is kinda shallow so it cools off kinda quick, but thats the aprox. water temp down here for lakes...

In March I think most of Louisiana and East Texas(barring a semi-freak cold front) should be warm enough to ride with a shorty wet suit on.

It's currently 60*F at Lake Travis, I don't recall what the temperature was last year in March. But the have you thought about South Padre Island, it will be a drive for you. I might try to go this summer.

If you're seeking somewhere to go on those dates in March...check out South Padre Island, in Texas. About the closest to you without going to FL. Great party scene, warm water (75-80 degrees). I don't know much about the PWC scene, maybe someone here can jump in.
