    Found a Bargin I think

Hey guys I found a bargin I think, but I wanted to run it by here first, I located a Kaw 1100 STX DI 2002 model, it has a broke rod, and I could not find a scratch anywhere on the hull, a trailer is included for 1000.00
Is this a good deal or should I stay clear . thanks for any help.

I'd buy it! I buy all my ski's broke and the last was a 98 1200 no trailer with a broke rod for 1000 so I think it's a deal! keep in mind it may have sawed the case and cyl in half??

I would be more concerned with the condition of the fuel injection system than I would the condition of the engine. As long as there are no major problems with the FI then I would say it would be a decent deal.

    Got It Home

I pulled it in the garage, and started looking at what I got, the rear piston is the one that broke looks like a torch cut into it. The case is still good, Looking at the cyl there is no gouges just a lot of metal filings in that one cyl, what are some options here, replace the complete motor, or can you purchase a new sleve and piston and be back up and running, will the cam shaft be saved or buy a replacment. I have ordered a manual for it, but I kinda wanted to see what everone recomends. Thanks for your help

First thing to do would be to try to figure out what the cause of the problem is. You don't want the same problem once you get her running again.

If the rod is broke, you should split the cases to make sure that there is no debris in there. Check for rust as well.
