GTI SE 155 or Kawasaki Ultra LX?

OK......it's come down to price on a new ski for '08. These are both best deal around $10,500 OTD w/ trailer. I know the LX is longer & heavier, with a better rough water ride & handling. I'll be doing most of my riding in bay/sea conditions, with 2-3 up & towing ski's & tow toys.
My only need to know now is speed issues. WHICH IS FASTER 0-30 & top speed? Which has better after-market support?

Thanks for any data that can be provided. These forums have been invaluable!

    STX - 15F

it's the best bang for the buck in the industry this year since kawasaki lowered the price on it...in 2007 it was $9499 or something like that... they dropped it to 8100!!!!!

it'll be faster than a GTI SE and Ultra LX, it will handle better.... for a MSRP or 8100 it's IMPOSSIBLE to beat its performance for the dollar with 1500 cc 160HP

and that's advice coming from a biased Seadoo person

Speed numbers are pretty rare in this forum for N/A 4-tecs(GTI SE) and I don't go through the Kaei forums so I don't know anything about the LX.

The N/A 4-tec is supposed to near indestructable and would provide many Summers of fun. The GTI being light will give better 0-30 times a possibly better top speed(not something that the GTI hull or N/A 4-tec are know for) Aftermarket support is very small for the N/A 4-tec pretty much just a custom(you build)3-4" intake and a GH Green water box with rear exhaust. Handling parts should be available for the GTI as a few racers use them because of the better rough water handling.

You said you will be dooing alot of 2/3 up riding, and pulling toys behind. would look real hard at the 155 Wake edition. i had an 03 and it ran flawless for three seasons and 167 hrs. It has the tow pylon factory stock. It went around 57 GPS top speed. Great bang for your buck! Maybe even better on a left over.

I've looked at the 12f (same hull), even sat on one. Seemed small! I'm 6'2', 205 LBS. The GTI 130 I rode last summer really stuck in my mind as comfortable and pretty quick, if not that fast (hence the 155 interest).

SeaDoo is advertising $29/ month for 24 months, regular payments thereafter. Seems like a terrific deal.....just pay it off after a couple of seasons. Anyone ever take advantage of that kind of teaser deal? What are the pitfalls?

    Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price:
RXP 155 HP engine option starts at: $10,299
RXP 215 HP engine option starts at: $11,599

only $1,000 and you get a whole lot more power and fun...save a few hundred if you take the 155hp RXP
