The R&D crankcase breather kit has worked well for myself and several other members who have intalled it. I had the GIO problem and it got a little better as I put more hours on the ski but it never went away. Since installing the kit and cleaning the silicone out of the crankcase breather tube, it has totally stopped. I run my ski very hard and have not had a rise in oil level or any smell of GIO since I installed that kit.

I think the "catch can" is the way to go. I do not have one (yet) and I am changing the oil after every ride (100+ mile ride). It's a PITA but the boat seems to like the fresh oil . . .

    +1.

Since performing the above I have not had any GIO issues. Peak RPMs are higher now, and it gets to peak RPM's quicker than before the installation.

Also, in my case, leaving the filler cap off the tank when storing the ski results in zero GIO.

    Island Racing

Try talking with Carl @ Island Racing. Not sure if he has done one yet, but I don't think he would have any problems installing one.

LB, did you install the kit, or did you have Aaron do it?

    Socal,
COOL...... another tester! How many RPM's are you turning? Check and see if you pick up a few. Most people have. Don't forget about that vent tube full of silicone
