Thanks, I couldn't find it on the list.
I have just lengthened the wires running to the waterbox sensor as I have relocated the exit to rear.
I was told this would work but perhaps it's playing with the resistance in the wire and throwing the code. I lengthened the wires by about 4 inches.
There is no long beep after the double beep when you out the key on. Just SENSOR on the display.

u can lengthen the wires, that's no problem.... i made mine longer also..
if u put the key on and get a sensor message, that's not an engine sensor or exhaust sensor or anything... that's an accessory sensor error (liek a depth finder, or compass, or something like that)
when do u get that code? as soon as you put the key on it gives u that code, or only after riding it? ... the SENSOR message and the P-code are two different issues

I get the 'SENSOR' message as soon as I put the key on without starting the engine, I then push mode 5 times and get the P--1514 code.
All without the engine being started.
I've just remembered that I previously got the 'double beep, long beep' when i put the key on and the waterbox sensor was not plugged in. Am I getting this old fault code form when I did this?

well either way... make sure the wires are well connected when u spliced them... if they are good, then get a new sensor and put that on and ur problem should be fixed
then see if ur sensor message goes away... typically they are un-related but ya never know..

It is the compass saying sensor when you put the key on.
