Breaking engine mounts on 04 rxp
Did anyone experience the trouble i went trough last year.
After riding a couple of weeks of heavy waves in Spain.
So on one day my rxp got in emergency mode ,beeping and idling ,i couldn't open the throttle anymore, just idle speed.
Thats the low oil mode so no problem!
So i added some oil ,after 3 liter of oil i got the impression this wasn't going the right way.
So i thought the engine was leaking some oil over the driveshaft.
After some examining buy a good seadoo technician, there was a other reason for the oil leaking.
Two engine mounts had broken,my engine was kind of loose in the hull.
This causing damage to my driveshaft,so some costly repairs needed.
Never heard of the problem, but it seems to be a model 04 problem, bad quality engine mounts.
So take care in the big waves, all you have to do is check your engine by pushing it around ,and feel if its stays in place ,if so your ok.
If not check your engine mounts!!

I dont think its just the 04's I have heard of other years as well. My RXP broke the L/rear mount and riped the R/rear out of the hull. I had to remove the motor and have the mounting piont in the hull re-glassed.

My 04 had broken mounts and The starboard side engine mount ripped out of the hull. I re-glassed it just about a month ago.
The problems I had with my mount actually sunk my ski so it was pretty bad.

For the people that have had this happen...do you ride hard in chop and or race?
Also, I think there is someone on here who had the front mount rip through the hull and they were running a RR solid front mount.

Just a lot of rough water riding/ jumping.. Basically 4 years of it. I replaced my front with the piranha also but there is a little controversy over that too with whether or shim or not to shim. I used an engine alignment tool and found that the piranha engine mount needed to be shimmed (2) 0.3mm shims in order to align correctly.

My ski had only done 43 hrs and was only 1 year old BUT has been a race ski all its life.

I believe mine was around 95-105 when it broke.. Hopefully my repair job will hold up!
