2005 GTX SC Stage I w/ problems
I recently added the RR stage I with free-flow exhaust and iridium spark plugs. After that change, I did not see any enhancements. How discouraging. I was told that since my rpms was 7450, that it was more than likely my SC washers. I got a set from RR and installed them. After taking the ski out after that, I am still discouraged. Now what? I got the ski in July of 2005 and has approx 60 hours on it. I bought the extended warranty, and am planning on taking it to the nearest SeaDoo location (Baton Rouge, LA - I live in Pineville, LA) for them to trouble-shoot. Any thoughts or suggestions? --Jeremy

What Kind Of Pump Impeller Are You Using?

My first thought would be the slip moment on the S/C clutch, if its too low the ski won't preform properly.
Also what is you ski if its GTX without the intercooler it has lower revlimiter than the RXP/RXT

You need to increase your RPMs whether it's a boost leak, worn wear ring, slipping clutch, wrong prop pitch etc. etc. there's a nice post on missing RPMs by Vern and/or RXPkid.

I agree with above: If it is a 185 hp SC, then you should only get
about 7400-7600 rpm's.
You might want to check your impeller and wear ring.
You may have some damage/ wear in there as well.

It actually is a pump off an rxp with a RR Solas impeller. I think it is a 13/20 and modified by RR also. It is whatever comes in the RR Stage I. When I was trying to change the impeller out, I must not have completely understood the instructions, because I ccracked the pump, making it worthless. I got a replacement from RR. They said it was the newest best off the latest RXP...2007, I assume. The impeller and ring were all one unit and sent to me as a bolt on unit.

A worn ring and screwed impeller is what started this whole thing. I told myself, self...If I am going to spend a few hundred bucks for impeller, ring, etc. I might as well get the stage I kit I had been eyeing. Thats what I told the wife. The ring and impeller are brand new.

Riva told me I should be near the 8000 rpms and ~67 mph with the Stage I and maybe 68 with free-flow exhaust and iridium plugs. Now, I am pushing 7450 at 55/56 mph. I am not even getting stock MPH.

do you have the 185 hp gtx OR the 215 hp i/c engine ?????
THAT will give us a lot of answers to help you out.
