    vfIII an keyway

    Hello can i install vfIII and a 4 degree key with stock compression?

    yes but why ? The compression will help more turn a bigger prop with authority. It is < $100 to have it cut.

    Reason being i want to do those mods first and save up some more $$$ and get my cylinders ported an head cut same time...

    well ...

    it is a lot easier to raise compression than to install a flywheel keyway (or to install reeds for that matter)

    the easiest mods to do are raise compresson and add an EFI controller

    Should i just wait an do everything one time..i stay in the caribbean an i will have to send my cylinders an head away to get ported an cut.

    +1....the keyway is a pain in the a$$ to get in. send you stock head to jim and he can mill it. it cost less than $100 like mrbtd said and there's no need for a girdle kit. it sounds like you want to go the same way i'm goin. i have a milled head from jim coming in today along with a 14/20 dynafly race finished/trued. if you decide to go with just vf3's and 4 degree you might want to consider a 13/19 prop. but if you get you head milled you will need a 14/20.

    I had (2) boats down here with VFIIIs and 3degree keys with stock compression spinning 14/21 & 14/22.

    Tanny has an 06'-07' GPR,he cannot run a 13/19 "solas" in the HO pump,if thats what you meant.
