    JS 440 purchase??

Hey yall...tis the season to buy boats so I am looking for a stand up. I have found a local JS 440 for $225. the guy says all it needs is coils and a stator to run. the pump and motor are out cause he was going to put in a different motor so he pulled it. I have pulled and reinstalled the motor in my polaris several times...im ok with getting my hands dirty and i dont think reassembly is beyond my limits on this one. what I wanna know is what kinda $$ will coils and stator cost? I want to get into a stand up cheap and this seems like a good way...anything i should look for or be aware of?? thanks for any help yall can give me!!

That hull is shorter than the 440/550 hull. (if i remeber correctly it is the same hull as the early 650's) Our 650 bounced a lot. A lot more than the 550 hulls

sooo...it is bouncier meaning less stable at speed, harder to ride or?? I have just found out the 440 has never been in this hull...anything to worry about with that? is it just bolt in and go?

IMHO just a harder ride. The 550 is a smooth hull than can really play around. Now, that was about 50 #'s ago, so it a dog for me right now. Maybe more power from the 650 with more weight would give a better ride. I cannot imagine that hull with a 440 engine in it. The 440's were somewhere less than 40-45hp. If you weight less than 150# it could be fun.
