was lookin at my pump today. noticed if look inside vein section has edges like in the casting. would it be beneficial to sand and grind these down. i noticed they kind of gradually build up then block off. hard to explain.

Not so much top speed as better hook up in rough water. Do a search in some of Carls blue printed pump work. He makes it look easy, but it is very time consumeing, and he has a better explaination then me.
If you can stick your hand into the venturi all the way to the stator veins, then feel where the faces of the venturi and pump mate together. If you feel a lip there, then it would not hurt to match them up either.
