    What is this for

    This little black bolt is this something inportant that needs to be checked before i put the pump back

    It strains and regulates the amount of water going into the ski.

    Look at the inside of the pump in that same area. You will see a mesh screen.

    If the mesh has debris in it, take a crescent wrench and screw it off and clean it.

    I have never personally seen anything on that screen, but I ride in fresh clean water.
