Pictures from Our Hudson River trip, May 6, 2006

About 120 pictures can be viewed here:

    http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/shibby...1485/my_photos

I'll upload them all later for download, but I gotta run out to a family occassion.

we had sun, we had clouds, we had rain, we had bad swells and chop, we had a break down, we had a good time.... we had it all...

14 people was the outcome How bout all those 20+ people that said they were comin we still had a great time tho and it was a perfect number of people for timing and refueling, etc... 198 miles on the water from Newburgh to Troy

Long trip, looked like a good time though!

How long did the trip last? Did you guys stay in Troy for awhile?

we were way too busy trying to ride in the chop...to take pictures.

On the way up there was some real nice conditions

then a front blew in and man, it was the most challenging ride i've ever been on.

I can hardly stand up without pain today!

Rocket, we left the ramp at about 9 10 am...

and returned somewhere in the 6pm area....

    It'was a longgggggg day!

For the rxp's rxt's it didnt seem like it was that hard on the way back (i got to ride a couple of them)

but for my lil honda - i was wondering if I was ever going to make it back.

The kinda conditions were 1 ft waves for 10 feet, then like 3 foot waves for 5 feet, over and over and over....

a real pain in the ass for me

here's some pics on the way home of when it calmed down.... then it got worse again.

We did see like 5 cool trains though! I never knew trains were still used so much

That's the same tracks for Amtrak that my brother takes home from Syracuse University every time he has a break. It's a really pretty ride, it basically just coasts along the Hudson River all the way down to Penn Station.

Looks like you guys had a lot of fun!

Again, let me say, these pictures weren't taken when we were riding in the worst of it

Trust me, it was pretty bad.

On top of the river being full of SHIT.

A bunch of us sucked stuff up, and all but one were lucky enough to have it not get stuck!

Anything from wood chips to even a full tree..... The water definitly was polluted down near newburg, I wouldn't recommend swimming in it. It tasted like what I would consider gas to taste like when I would get hit in the face
