on what craft?? the 1200 uses the larger reeds , manifold and carbs ! so that may be the direction you want to go? the theory behind a spacer is it gives the reeds less turbulence so they last longer and may perform better Z

I doubt you'd feel the difference but I see the spacers for sale often and it won't hurt to try it

I run one. Can't say that it does anything noticeable for performance, but the added space between the cyl. and carbs is useful.

The theory is that the longert intake tract helps the low speed response.

The 1100 reeds are not as long as the 1200 reeds and dont hang over the boost port pathway. The reason for useing the spacer with the 1200 reeds is because the length of the reeds put them blocking a clear passage way to the boost port thus needing the spacer.
Keep in mind that anytime you add more case volume, ie. the thickness of the spacer, you lower case pressure. This will add to the bottom end but rob from the top.
The guys that use the spacer with the 1200 reeds find that the trade off for better flowing boost ports is worth the small amount of loss case pressure. Because the 1100 reeds already dont block these openings I dont know if your going to get the same trade off. JMO
