    problem with vx

Hi Guys, I have a friend who owns a rental business and runs 10 units of vx 110. Its been running an average of 600-800 hours per ski and he is consuming oil in his vx's. What is the problem with these skis? Should he be changing something in his engines? And by the way, he opened one engine and he found out a valve was lose and you can rotate the valve in circles. What is the problem with these skis?

    Hello Timmy !
please look in my signature below and download a Service Manual for the VX model ski. There is good technical information there to help.
There is a member who also has some experience in the VX motors. PM forum member [Bill Cosca]

What service manual? Unless it's hidden somewhere else, looks like a pdf for a dealer out of crate assembly.

Bill has posted the same problem with his rentals, the rings don't hold up.

I've come across the same problem. Once they hit about 100 hours they burn about a quart a week.
I do oil changes every 50 hours, filters every 100 hours.

100 hours? Come on...something doesn't sound right. Original owner? Broke in the machine correctly? Changed the oil the right way? I have 350hrs on my VX and does not lose a drop...only on severe rough chop and huge swells I seem to lose some oil, but thats normal for a 4 stroke.

My brothers FXHO with a little over 100 hours uses some oil too, came in on limp mode once from low oil.
