    Question Need your opinions

I'm new to this site, and waverunners all together. I do have a SeaDoo Challenger 1800, which i;m selling to buy a waverunner. I'm trying to decide between two skis that i went and saw. its a 04 Seadoo gtx sc, and a 03 yamaha gp1300r. I'm not into racing and stuff like that, just to pull a tube, and ride around the lake. I would appreciate any help you can give me on these two machines, about whats a better buy. as far as maintenance, fuel consumption, stuff like that. Thanks

    Jeff

Welcome Jeff.Cant pull a tube with the GPR(legally). You need a pilot, flagger, and a third spot for the tuber.Sounds like you need a 3 seater IMO.

Welcome to the HULK!!!!!!!!! If you are looking for fuel econmey you should look at the Hondas also.... I did a 70 mile trip and only used slightly more than a 1/4 tank of fuel on a turbo charged ski!!! And they are very reliable.

Thanks for the info guys. I guess i'm going w/ the gtx sc, it seems like a good pwc. And i need to be able to pull a tube, because thats what we normally do with my nephews on the challenger, and when they heard i was selling it, they were bummed out, So it has to be able to pull one...lol. Also, how big of tube can you pull?

    welcome jeff

He's serious. One of the guys that rode with us last year had a bone stock R12x. On a 200 mile trip he stopped once with us and put in $20 worth of gas (about 7 gallons) because he didn't want to run the tank low.. The rest of us stopped and filled up about every 50-65 miles..... We were not staying off the gas much...

Jeff, If your going to be pulling a tube and cruising the lake the GTX is probably going to be the better boat for you... Fuel consumption and maintenance are going to be pretty cost similar for both..
Good Luck and welcome to GH!
    Doug
