Thread: Conversion basics

I am not doing a conversion any time soon but wanted to share some basics that could get lost in the HP mania. Sorry if its redundant.
Reinfornce the pump tunnel.
Use the 05 pump brackets or make a plate for the area (while you are there do the trim tab ones also)
Make a plate for the front of the intake grate to bolt to (through the hull)
You cant use a plastic steering nozzle.
I am sure there is other stuff that I dont know about.

Head over to the Yamaha FAQ forum, and all this information has been there now for years.

I haven't really seen a consis list of whats needed anywhere (maybe not looking good enough) but for a GPRXP conversion, what else is basically needed for a standard conversion other then the following (or if any of this is wrong... please correct me)
$ ????? GP1200R Hull
$600.00 Motor Mounts-Drive Shaft
$3.5k - $5k Engine and accessories (depending on condition and whats supplied)
$175.00 Drive Shaft- RXP side
$100.00 Intermediate shaft- GPR
$189.95 Driveshaft- from pump into hull
$200.00 Seadoo J-Pipe
$144.95 Yamaha GPR 1300 free-flow hose
$250.00 open loop cooling plate for the motor
$199.99 Solid front mount- required to eliminate motor flex
With a Hull set up for flat water and stock engine, would you expect 85mph?

Here ya go bro. Do a little reading. There is a basic list here.
Pm me with any questions, or just ask them in the conversion performance area. Lots of helpful folks here.
