    Springfield XD-40 or H&K USP40...?

I thought I did not want to spend so much on a handgun but I've narrowed it down to these two models....What do you prefer the Sringfield XD-40 or the H&K USP 40 ?

    Springfield is $510 and H&K is $680..

Of the two choices I would say the HK. I just have not been able to like the Springfield XDs, even with most people saying that they shoot just fine. Lately there has been several complaints on Springfields quality control in general and that the pistols are actually made in Croatia. Sometimes HKs customer service sucks, but they do have a excellent product for the most part. Should you need parts for the HK some of the larger dealers for them can usually help out.

Heck with the xd40, get the xd-45...

If you haven't shot either of them, find a range that rents them. Shoot, then decide.

I'm a big Ruger fan and i would say for the money there is no better handgun. I paid $472 for my KP-345R (45 cal) when they first came out and a friend of mine just picked up a P-95 (9mm) for $360. I've put many types of ammo through my KP-345R and over 3,000 rounds and have never had a jam, even with hollow points. It also has a nice safety, safety lock, and is a decocker. They also just came out with their first striker fire pistol called the SR-9 which i'd like to check out. I'm not saying Ruger is the best but maybe the best bang for the buck.

There was a nice deal on it for $799 with the night sights and an extra mag but $800+ tax and chit was too much for me, even though it seemed like a good deal....
