    08 sho / 08 sea doo 255

hey guys ive been working the louisville boat show and our yamaha rep came by. He said the new sho as 210 hp and is only running about a 1/4 of the boost it can handle. the sea doo has been having alot of problems overheating because their running so much boost that the engine is pushed to the limit. So i look forward to seeing sea doo rack their brains trying to keep up with yamaha.

    Salesmans propaganda!

You need to browse the Doo forum. PM a few guys that actually have an X. Ask them how many overheating problems they had. PM BigBuck12345. Hes been riding the shit out of his RXT-X. But as both skis set, the X is way ahead of the Yami. The Doos dont have cruise control, oh no..... Thats inconsequential. Now the Yami in a modded state..... That has long yet to be discovered.

The X series is not at its mod limit theres still room for a Rude Charger, Prop, Grate or even a Turbo, all have been done without sacrifcing reliabilty. The SHO is nice with the cruise control but u still got to hold the throttle down to enable that feature(Safety feature I guess) With all that being said I still think the Ultra will dominate the rough and the Sea Doos & Yamis will be the top speed kings. The X series vs other stock performance will be another story......

Not hard to realize when you look at the source of the information. What else would you expect the competition to say?

not that i am saying this is the case. but once you reach a certain point with an engine the amount of gain to the amount of money you put in just isnt worth. yes you can get more but to gain 1 mph and cost you 2-3 is it worth it? all engines have a peak.

for cost of your dollar i would imagine it would be easier to gain more speed out of the yamaha engine over the seadoo. but only time will tell.

Your first red flag was when he said it had 210hp...

You should have replied "its got 220....YAAAR!"

RXP/T responds very well to mods that wont set you back a million bucks. Yet, they go pretty goddam fast. I bet ya a quarter it will take a good amount of money to get the SHO to match the speed/accel of an RXT-X.. I dont recall the SHO trailing to 72 stock............. YET. But in the end, deciding factor is going to be the hull IMO.

considering how efficient the gpr hull is (designed a decade ago) and since it is top speed king. i doubt the sho will dissapoint, especially since its taken so friggin long to be developed.... yamaha design will reign supreme
