    Need help in Tulsa, OK

Any fellow riders near the Tulsa, OK area? I have a 2001 GP1200R and need help installing a new pump seal kit, rideplate, prop, and intake grate. Since i'm new to this, I was wondering if there are any seasoned veterans near me who could offer their services? I'd pay of course

    Thanks,
    Erik

Riva 1200 plate (black). I'm going to install everything this weekend. The only thing i'm a bit nervous about is replacing the prop. Is that very difficult?

hey emcewin, you'll need to secure the pump housing to get the impeller loose, it's in their pretty good. a splined yamaha impeller removal tool works the best for this job. believe it or not a small out board drive shaft from Yamaha outboards has the same pattern. we end up with alot of damaged ones throughout the season at the marina and I give them to PWC owners for impeller switching, just pop it in and pipe wrench it loose. Ask your local Yamaha outboard service shop they probably have one layin around you can have. If your replacement impeller is Solas you should have gotten a socket to install it, don't forget a decent drop of red lock- tight when you spin the new one on.
check this link from hydrotoy for the service manual.

To get the most gain out of the plate you might send it off through the Jim ride plate modding service in the store. Can add up to 4 mph on top.
