    Another oil Filter Thread (Baldwin?)

I have alwauys uysed Baldwin filters and had excellent results with all muy oil sample reports, on all muy cars and truycks. How about this one for the Hondas? Its 4" long so theres a little extra capacituy/filter capability? Any good bad ideas.....

Why? Post up some of your all knowing knowledge that explains why I should use only the Honda filter? Have you cut one open yet? Does Honda really make them or someone else? the last one I cut open was tore in 2 spots, doesn't seem good for my engine to just let the oil flow right on through? Just so you know I cut open every single oil filter I have ever taken off any vehicle, car truck, pwc, motorcycle, etc. I cut open 3-4 Baldwin B series oil filters every week off of International DT's and have never seen one torn, ripped, etc. But of the 2 times I have changed the oil on my honda 1 time the filter had 2 tears in it 1/8" long or better??????

The Honda OEM filter should be used simply because it works. The startup PSI is over 125 and the bypass was designed for Honda. Its not important who makes the filter, what is important is if it is made to Honda specs.

This is a OEM Honda filter that was in use after the lower end went out in an Aquatrax. Even though there was trash everywhere the particles didn’t get into the pump and damage it. I’ve always used OEM filters when I can and only change to something else if they don’t work. It’s not worth the gamble on my engines.

The bypass valve and flapper can be seen below. This is the same filer that saved the Aquatrax motor from bearing damage.
