    MSX Project-Coming Soon

    There's going to be a MSX Project this spring in the shop. Just purchased a 2004 MSX 150 without the motor. So now the choice becomes what to power it with. There's a possiblity of maybe refitting it with a MSX 140 motor. Or something else? With Going to Cali. it won't get pick-up for abouit 2 months. If anyone is down the St.Louis,mo area and making a trip north in the next few months and could haul a ski,get ahold of me. I could arrange someone to meet them somewhere along the way. And of course I'd help with the gas.
    I'll post some pictures of it in the next few days.

    I say just run with the 140, the bed plate, driveshaft blah, blah, blah all bolts up easier than fabricating any other power plant you drop in that bad boy.

    Or something else? ...
    Do you want to recreate a standard fuel injected MSX 140, or something carbureted?
    Would the 1165cc (carb or FI) engines bolt right in?

    What about going the Matrix route, pipes and such, but with the 1165cc motor?

    Yes...but try to find one.
    My guess is a BB with a single pipe might take you into the 65-66 range??
    But I'm willing to bet the acceleration would be awesome!!

    BB=Big Block
    Since 1200 is all the factory did for us anything bigger seems to be called a big block. My Sharps 1350 BB would probably be a pretty good engine for a single pipe project. MUCHO torque!!

    Thanks for explaining that.

    Since 1350cc is only 16% more displacement that a stock 1200, I am guessing that just as much of the gain with a 1350 is that it would be breathed on, ported, and/or piped.

    Displacement + attention + upgrades = torque & power.
    I can certainly see that.
