    Are these injectors backwards?

    Hey... I have replaced the EMM and injectors on my 99 Genesis FFI with a set off matching injectors and EMM from a 2004 MSX 140.

    On the set that i removed the fuel line connectors were on the starboard side of the ski and the electrical connectors were on the port side with the fuel lines going foward into the fuel pump. See attachment "injectors old"

    On the new set when i put them on as marked "PTO", "M" with the fuel connectors on the same side of the boat as the original the fuel lines come off the injector aft and then had to add fuel line to get the lines to connect to the forward side of the boat and pump. See atteched "injectors new"

    The ski starts and runs rough.. did i put the injectors on wrong. Should all fuel lines come off the injectors and go forward not aft. If so this would reverse the connectors, puting the fuel lines port side and the electrical starboard.

    These new injectors are not marked with a 1,2, or 3 like the old set.

    Thanks for your help.

    These photos may or may not help you;

    First is from a 2002 Virage TXi (Same engine type as your Genesis, I believe)
    Second is from a 2004 MSX140

    In both, the front of the boat is towards the right.

    Thanks "K".. do you see the odd part that i am trying to show.... if i turn the injectors around so the fuel line is going to the front of the boat like they should be than the fuel connectors are on the other side.. next to the water rale... just odd.... i am assuming it makes a difference if they are not on right. All the fuel lines on the injectors are crimped on with the "stock" clamps.. not the screw type.

    I would also think it means
    M=Mag=Magneto
    C=Center=Center
    P=PTO=Power Take Off=Rear=Drive Shaft

    Yeah.. i put them on how they were marked.. M=Mag, PTO=rear and what not.. it just throws me off that the fuel lines are coming out aft instead of forward.

    Will it make the boat run rough if the injectors are not on as programed?

    Well, is there any possibility that the injectors were marked AFTER they were removed from the motor, and someone just got their markings reversed?

    The individual injectors are flow mapped to the ECU, so the ECU needs to be firing the correctly matched injector on each cylinder. If you connect the injectors to the ECU, but not on the correct cylinders, you are liable to be running some cylinders richer, or leaner, than what the ECU thinks is happening.

    Obviously the center cylinder is going to be correct, but the PTO and MAG cylinders need to have the correct injectors in place.

    Reversed injectors.

    Yes it's possible that they were marked incorrectly... I removed them months ago from a used motor.. Maybe I had too much caffeine before I marked them?? I'm sorry I cant hepl more, but most of you guys know more about the 140 ECU's than I do...

    I think this is why i'm an IT guy and not a mech.... lol
