    RXT X fuel requirements

Just out of curiosity, am I the only one whos' marinas do not carry the high octane fuel that these skiis require? I purchased a Duramax flo n go which holds about 15 gallons of fuel that I can bring to the lake.

Just wondering if everybody else was carrying extra cans of fuel with them too.

    carrying gas

I bought a 100 gallon tank from NAPA and put on an electric pump with 100ft of hose and just pull to my dock to fill up. Always have high test.

    93

It's hard to find the good stuff on the river so I fill a couple of 6 gal cans with 93. Do these new "X"s have a knock censor so you can use 87 if stranded with no other choice? When I first bought my 04 RXP they were burning down useing 87 until they came out with an update which allowed 87 but still reccomend 91+

Anyone have the skinny on this?

No marinas in my riding area normally carry 91 or 93 octane either ... it is hard to find on the water.

driveumhard - carry some grain alcohol in your storage bin in case you get stranded. Just down the Everclear or whatever your preference, wait a few minutes and piss in the tank. That's better than 87. Remember #1 is better and #2 is shit.

I've got a gas station (76) by me that sells 100 octane. Its around $5.00 / gallon. For houseboat trips when I'm only by 87, once I get the 'low fuel indicator' I put in 5 gallons of 100 octane, ride the rxp 3 mins to the pump (only 87) and top the tank off. This gives a pretty easy and accurate octane rating.

By the way, I spotted the Bugatti, fastest car in the world and 1 million $$ at the gas station I filled up at. He was putting in 100 octane.
