250x vs rxp-x
im in the process at the moment determining weather or not too get an 08 ultra or the rxp-x.
was wondering which is the better of the skis.

depends which forum you post in. You are in Kawasaki so hence kawasaki is better. lol.
Best bet is to read all the posts about both and make a decision. I have ridden an rxt and just didnt like the hull handling, but it is still an awesome ski that shouldnt have any problems. They have had many years to work out the bugs, where the kawi is still new.
I chose the Kawi for the hull, power, colors and sleek look that I like.
You might want to wait for the yamaha sho and look at that also. I am shure that will be a great ski too, but may have its first year bugs also.
My opinion, you really cant go wrong with any of the 3 top contenders above. Its a hard choice I too have been pondering for the last 6 months, but yesterday I brought home my Ultra 250.

Im not biased to any brand. Although I own an Ultra150 and buying an SHO. My advice to you........ Look long and hard at the RXP before you buy one, do your research! Youll see the good and bad. I looked, I found the bad. Engine is ok. Its the hull that needs to be watched constantly. Of your 2 choices, go for an 08 Ultra all the way.

He asked about the RXPX. I have ridden a kawi 250 and it is a great machine. The reviews and from I have heard so far RXPX is faster in top end and acceleration. When it comes down to it though. You need to decide which hull you like riding on best. Also what service departments are in your area. You don't want to buy a machine that you can never get serviced if need be.

performance wise the rxp-x is better than the ultra but kawasaki has a better hull design

You compare a 2-seater with a 3-seater.The Ultra should be compared to RXT's/x's only.
Performance wise the 2-seater is better.
For rec use the Ultra cant be beaten.
In chop the Ultra cant be beaten also.
I have many doubts regarding reliability of a 3cylinder squized up to 255hp...
In lake ok,someone will save your azz and tow you back but in open sea...

True the Kawasaki 250 has been out almost 2 years now so it will have a lot more bugs worked out than the RXTX. Still performance wise the RXTX wins. With 100 lbs less weight its more nimble. But I have to admit the hull on the kawasaki is a great one and it busts through the chop like nothing else. It's all preference.
