a coupla questions for the pro's

So today I pull my oem intercooler and gave it a cleaning with vinegar then rinsed with plenty of water. Excepting the film of oil over the entire thing...it looked pretty good.

    Now to the questions...

before I got to work I had a good look around the interior of the hull. and I found this...

What is it? nylon bushing type thing.

While I was having fun in the garage with the ski I decided to go ahead and pull the prop.

Look at this pic and tell me....What the fck do I do now?

That is not a bolt....it was positioned top left of the pump.

I don't think so, aren't those threaded? That doesn't look like it is.

The last pic is a bolt??? Not sure what is wrong with it. did you pull the drive shaft out when you pulled the pump. It kinda looks like a drive shaft bumper, not sure if the Doo's have them or not?

    The white thing isn't threaded.

That bolt...which isn't.....is what is left of the nut and post off the upper left of the pump.

I'm loosening the nut....backed it off a quarter of an inch and it gets difficult...I stop...figureing the nut is cross threading....how the hell does that happen?....I reverse to tighten it and I get a coupla turns then the same thing happens.....*%$(%(#@!

.....so I'm thinking to myself....if I strip this thing I don't want it doing that close to the pump...better off having it happen toward the end of the post/bolt end...So I loosened it....it got tough then started to get easier.....then came off in my hand......sonofabiatch.

    How do I fix this?

I know what that is (white nylon thing) I removed that when i took my resonator out. I remember it was over the bolt as a spacer or soemthing that holds the resonator down. Maybe u left it in there? or they used in soemthing else?

    ReDevilRxp,

    left it in there
or dropped it not knowing it was there....a spacer....makes sense.

    Thanks.

    JP,

I looked behind the intake and exhaust hose, ect and put a liberal coat of wd on that bolt. I'll tackle it in the am.

    Thanks.
