    J-pipe welding...

    So,
I need some major surgery on the J-pipe from the exhaust manifold to the waterbox. To be specific, lengthened over 10".

I'm taking all suggestions before seeking out the best SST welder in the area.

    fyi.
My "plan" is to have it cut, just before the water outlet on top of the J-pipe, keeping the water dump past the hump, and have a welded in extension internal and then external pipe.

    Nah,
I wish it were that easy. I can move the waterbox right up to the back of the supercharger. Unfortunately it blocks the inlet to the sc, due to the angle of the waterbox in the gpr hull versus the rxp hull. There is no way to move it left or right.

In essence, it's not a north/south problem, but an east/west issue. Plus, there is no way to rotate it to match the rxp placement.

So, what I'm needing to do is lengthen and twist the two to match up. I'm looking for any info from those folks who might have done some welding to this part.

If Dan was here, and had his welder with him, i'd be bribing him with doughnuts and strippers. However, I think it's gonna need to be tacked here, with the ski and all the parts in one place, since it's going to require a twist with an extension.

    Shibby,
since I got the RXP wrecked/used the cost has been kept under control. I'm trying to keep it close to $10k or less.
