    oil pump gear in vice...

    water pump wheel is reverse threads

    what exactly are you asking? so i can knock out most of ur question in one shot..

    ur converting your 4-tec to open loop cooling, correct? so ur asking how to properly remove the water pump impeller and stuff?

    the oil pressure pump in the PTO cover is driven off the counter balance shaft... the oil pump shaft drives both the oil pump and the water pump.. so obviously u need that shaft there forever...

    how u run the open loop is all subjective, everyone has their own way of doing it and blocking off the water pump wheel and this and that..

    there's a ceramic seal in the PTO cover that the pump shaft passes thru...

    problem that gets confronted is the exposed shaft on the open loop side is steel, so it's going to rust if u dont isolate it or seal it off somehow
