    knock sensor resistor removal

Hey guys I just heard about the knock sensor resistor removal. I just put in a new RR ECU and the check engine light comes on. Could this be the problem? The motor runs fine. All I did was put the new ECU in and did not do the removal. Do I need to?

If you have the RR stock ECU, no. If you have the RR race ECU, Yes.

Where did you buy it ? Look at your invoice. It is either a 4501 or 4502 unit.

    sensor

Hey guys I do have the 4501 EMU but if I ran it without the sensor mod would that retard the timing? So what I'm getting at do you think there is more left in it? Also I know they say with the stock class ECU you should retard the cam timing for more performance. Should I do this with the racing ECU? Will I see a difference in the power or speed by doing this?

The 04 had knock sensor updates that are just a plug in wire harness. All I had to do was unplug and remove my knock sensor update. Yours will be a different process and I know somewhere Shibby has posted the procedure.
