Do you like flat, hot ass crowded cities?
Water?...You are talking about a desert.
terraserver.com (edit....that site has chenged since I last used it)
Check out demographics of a given area before you decide pull up stakes.

ski pimp is right about Chandler, Gilbert & Queen Creek.
If you'll be there for a few years, it's a great time to buy a house, the prices are way down.
Check out the "Salt River lakes' in the following link.
Skis are OK at all of them. Travel time from Chandler/Gilbert:
Saguaro - 40 Mins.
Canyon - 50 Mins.
Apache Lake - 90 Mins. My Favorite
Roosevelt Lake - 90 Mins. The largest by far.
All are on National Forest land, so you can't buy or lease property here, but some very good lake camping.
What company? I may know where you would end up in town. It really pays to have a short drive to work nowadays.
