Ecu upgrade? Worth the $$$? please join in.

How's it going everyone? I'm wondering what everyones expieriences were when they spent the money on a Ecu? I was told that I must upgrade the valve train in order to run the higher Rpms and I'm guessing this should be done sooner rather than later?
Well any expieriences with either Rotax or Riva is appreciated.. Also is it tru the Rotax will not void warranty while the Riva one will?
    Thanks,
    Adrian

I've got a riva power filter on there now. Where's the best placement for the 4inch intake? Any info on the Ecu?

Most are putting the 4 inch intake in the exact location as your power filter, except for a few that have moded a 4 inch rear for the 3 seater. If you want a 4 inch front then check out one of the threads by lafjax. he has posted a very nice setup for custom 4 inch front intake. I will be doing this mod on my GTX if I ever get arround to getting the parts.

In regards to ecu, I have not upgraded either one of mine yet. But all that I have read is that most feel like it is one of the best mods they have done to gain speed and performance.

Valve train upgrade must be done to run an ECU. U will get to 75 MPH with your set up W/ an ECU and 50 lbs. injectors.

    noo

Actually if you did the ECU and 50 lb injects with your setup you would be closer to high 70's to 80mph. I will be around 75-76 without the ecu and 42lb injects.

I think if you want to get to or close to 80, you will need the ECU and valve train upgrade w/ 50 lb injects.

Matter of choice. You would def be above 75 though

    also

you would also need a diff pitch prop and ext intercooler. You really can't judge his speed because he has no ext IC and a prop that really wouldn't work w the setup. If you had the ext IC, prop and ECU w/ 50lb injects + what you have you would be above 75

Sorry about previous post, I thought I saw you had a ext IC and didn't notice the pitch on your prop
