    Down to the last details

I spend alot of time in my shop looking at my ski's, drinking beer, and thinking about ways to go faster or how to customize the appearance of them.

The other night I got to looking at the mirrors on the GP. I wonder if I removed them and made an aluminum plate to fill in the void, if there is any top speed to be gained. They stick out pretty far and have to be creating some drag. To me it would be similar to sticking your hand out the window of a car. Of course this would not be a huge gain, if any, but if there is a half mph to be had here, it would be worth it. What are your thoughts, besides that I am insane?

That is a unique looking ski. The drag he lost by removing the mirrors he probably gained back with the hand guards.

Hey man, there is nothing wrong with hanging out in your shop drinking beer and working on your skis. I have to remind my wife every once in awhile that its better than a bar room..

As far as the mirrors.. I dont think it would make any difference unless your 100+, but you never know. Pull them off and then duct tape all of your hood seams, gaps, etc and see how it goes on gps..

I am kinda surprised no one has gutted a gpr more so you can sit down in it and stay out of the wind...

Believe me, I feel no shame spending time in the shop. It is my sanctuary. I have a flat screen LCD TV, and the shop is climate controlled. The only thing it does not have is a shower, it does have a shitter & a sink though.

Haha, I know it will not slow a car down. I am thinking of making a ball retainer undergarmet. Sometimes with the GPS still climbing in the 69mph range my sac shoots out like a parachute.
