Thread: VF3 ?

Do all of these need to be worked in order to fit properly when bought from islandracing or fercho? I have read where people are grinding and filling and what not and was curious just how much work needs to be put into them. Thanks to anyone answering.

Just leave the stuffers out. I am nearly certain what Carl or Fercho sends you will be complete.

The stuffers add no performance and tend to warp. Once they warp they impede performance.

So if I understand correctly, just leave the stuffers out and there shouldn't be any grinding or anything and I should just be able to slap'em together and install? I am also considering just using a plate with my stock reeds and see if I gain anything. Just not sure the VF3 are in the budget this spring.

Before installing them I would make sure the reeds sit flush, if not you are going to have a leak. The best way to do this is use a piece of glass and some sandpaper. Lay the sandpaper on the glass, and sand down the reeds by sliding them on the sandpaper until they are flush with the adapter plate. Use a straight edge to make sure everything is nice and flush.
I would ditch the stuffers, once you grind them to fit they are very thin and prone to warping.
Hope this helps...
