    Which pump stator?

Can you guys explain what makes one pump stator better or worst than another? I've seen 5 veins to 12. Is it speed, hook up or what?

Hook up. The more vains the better the hook up. But you need more power. If you put a 12 vain in a stock craft you will not see any good results. It will slow you down...

From what I've heard the different pump stators help with hook up, I think because it helps keep the pump loaded with water.
The most common pump stator that i've been hearing about is the Stainless Steel 6 vein stator. Im sure that others will help explain it a little better

They are correct ^^^^. 6, 7(rare), 8, and 12 vanes are SS. So that in itself is an upgrade over easily damaged factory aluminum 5 vanes. Why, I'm not sure, but the 6 vane makes the pump more efficient and increases top speed by 1-2 MPH. The 8 and 12 are used for better acceleration in choppy water, but will reduce top speed. Plus they require more HP.

The way I look at it is that 6 and 7 vanes dont create as much backpressure of water, the more vanes in the pump create more backpressure and to overcome that, you need more water thrust and to create more thrust you need more horse power.

Like I said that's just what I think it is and I could be totally wrong

A six is fine for most people.

Never knew there was a 5 SS. If it was made, of course Al has it.....
