RXT X Mods
If I were to just put the riva intake grate on, the riva power filter, and fill ride plate holes. Do I need to change the impeller because of the higher RPMs or would I still see the 3 to 4 mph gain without needing the impeller.

Yes, with the increased air you will gain RPM and be all over the limiter. You need the prop RIVA is coming out with too.

Thanks for the respones, but two other things. Do I need to adjustable nozzle as well? Also will a riva BOV fit onto the X skis?

The relocation kit will also allow you to use the RXP rear air intake and Riva's thru hull exhaust kit.

You guys have been really helpful, just one last question to pick your brains. Will the SS wear ring fit on an RXTX?

Hi guys. I feel like I've been a nag, but I am really new to modding sea doos. It is my understanding that the adjustable venturi with the riva stage 1 kit will slow down acceleration? If I wanted to do all of stage 1 without the venturi so I can keep the acceleration, what kind of speed gains to expect me to achieve?

The stock venturi is 87mm, a larger venturi will give you more acceration, RPM's and less top end. The adjustable venturi in the stage one kit has 81mm, 82mm and 83mm rings. I would think that you would be on the limiter with the solas prop and a 87mm venturi if that was the only thing to consider. The grate and power filter in the stage one kit are going to increase the rpms some and the smaller venturi will decrese the rpm's some. It would be hard to say that it will work with just a prop and grate without testing especially since neather parts are available yet.
Having said that, the solas props usually have better hole shot and acceleration than the stock props. I am sure once the parts are available some one will try just the prop and grate but in my opinion the adjustable venturi will be needed to keep the R's down.
