Re: RXP, RXT, RXP-X ,RXT-X seats (Must read)

    Hi Guys,

I Believe anyone with a new Ski from 2007 on should look under their seats and if it has breather holes to the foam you ill most likely find it is acting like a Sponge and pumping excessive amounts of water or Salt water on top of your Engine and associated parts which can cause serious Damage hence $$$$$$$$ every time you bounce up and down.

We blocked the holes with rubber grommets and i have heard silicone works well also.

Just a heads up to check your ski!

    Regards

    Jase

this is smart to keep water from dripping onto your motor while riding but remember if u want to keep your foam in your seat very long u best let it stand against a wall and dry a day or so after u ride....especially if u are gonna trap all the water in it after each ride....at least standing against the wall it can run out the end onto the floor......i mean what if u just cover it up and put it away like that even if u clean the inside out..........MOISTURE and SWEATING in the engine compartment BIGTIME cause water trapped in the seat it will matter in the heat all covered up inside the engine compartment........ bad idea.....now u let the seat drip dry standing against a wall for a day or so after each ride u can get away with it..........BET!!!!!

p.s. i dont plug the holes but i do let my seat drain after every ride! PERIOD!

Thats correct Reid! But you need to stop the water while riding and lean the seat against a wall after riding to dry it out........

Some Models have about 20 or more holes to fill.......

dont u guys drench your engine compartment with fresh water anyway after riding in salt water? ... i'm not gonna plug my holes, i got them in my seat... i want the seat to breath and dry... i WANT all the water to squeeze out... water on the engine never hurt anything if you properly hose everything down and spray it all with a lubricant afterwards

Not to mention if you block the holes how will my a** stench escape? (Water isnt the only that can get trapped in there)

so youre saying if we only ride freshwater it wont matter? i dont want to plug the holes because the seat will get waterlogged plus ill be riding everyday so it wont have time to dry .. not really but do i need to plug them if i use the ski for freshwater use only?
