    OSB modified VF-III reed stuffers

I have been working on this project for a while. Not really working but it has been a work in progress for a while. I feel this is an excellent solution to two issues I have had with the VF-III reeds. The first issue was the reed stuffers bowing and cracking. The second was the soft aluminum reed cover plate. I had the OEM reed cover plate dimple around the bolts and cause an air leak using the rubber OEM 1300 gaskets. My original plan was to make a beefier cover plate. I got a used Pro-Tec reed stuffer and was going to cut the stuffer part off. I looked at it for a bit and came up with the idea of incorporating the stuffer in it to fit the VF-III's. So after some measuring and drawing I made a fixture to hold it on the mill and made some. A couple of adjustments later and the fit is perfect. I wrote a program to run these on the CNC and now am able to offer them to anyone that wishes a set. I can also bore the hole to match larger size carbs. These will be available in two different ways as a purchased unit complete or as a modification to your Pro-Tec reed stuffer. I am not doing this as a means of making money. I have a job that keeps me very busy, it is just a way of passing it on and supporting my home on the internet.
Here is some pics of the stuffer and VF-III assembly

    Prices
    1. Modify your Pro-Tec 12/1300R reed stuffer $125
    2. Modify your 800R Pro-Tec Reed stuffer $83
    3. Buy one that I have in stock 1200/1300R $225
These prices do not reflect shipping.

    Thanks OsideBill

Can i assume with these, you no longer need to run the extra spacer plate ?

If you mean the crappy OEM reed cover plate, yes you no longer need it.

Bill, with this set up, will you be able to install a set of VF3's and not worry so much about them leaking? That has been my biggest concern since once I install these things I don't want to have to go back in and keep messing with them. Will these work on the 1300r?

To answer your first Question: YES this was my driving force in making these to begin with.

Question 2: Yes it will work on any GPR I could even modify the 800R stuffer if somone wanted it.

This is something that can be done by anybody. I will say the machine cut version are a nice net fit. I knew once I released some pictures a while ago, people would jump on the idea that was the goal. However I have had several people ask me to do it for them, that is why I offered them up.

Thanks man. Just when I thought I would bypass this mod and save some money you go and do this. Now I have no good reason not to do the mod and go in debt more.
