Best Intercooler For Endurance Racing
Trying to decide the best setup for my RXP,
I race long distance endurance racing here in Australia where we are at Wide Open Throttle long distance for 20 to 25 minutes at a time, I also ride social riding in salt water, so I need an intercooler with good performance, that is capable to handle long distance without suffering heat soak.
What is the best intercooler for this application?
The only options I know of is Riva, Rotax Racing, XS intercooler or Piranha.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Other mods likely are going to be Green SC wheel, 4” intake, TDR water box and through hull exhaust (stock ECU) and 42# injectors.

I'm guessing would have to be a large intercooler with plenty of air flow, and plenty of water flow to take the heat soak away.
The Bridge to Bridge race here in Australia is a great race, but it takes a lot out of the ski's so they need to be as reliable as possible and in peak form.

The Riva ones die pretty frequently, especially in salt. Personally, I'd avoid it.

Rotax Racing IMO is the best for Salt.

The Piranha intercoolers have the water passages anodized. They would be great for salt water usage plus they are sized perfectly for our application.

Can anyone tell me if the Piranha and the RotaxRacing ones are Tube and fin, or Bar and plate cores?

Pirhana is bar and plate anodised. Not sure about RR.
