    ride plate electrolisis

My ride plate is rough and pitted. Is there any coating to prevent this? How much speed is this losing?

There is a zinc anode attached to the rear of the rideplate that should get eaten before the ride plate does. Make sure it is still there. Replace if eaten down.

how much time is your ski staying in the water?????
are you pulling it out onto a floating dock, and the AZZ end is still wet?
are we talkin salt water , i assume.
ski should never stay in the water overnight.
always be washed off after riding.
you can sand it more smooth using a block and sandpaper, or belt sander.
make sure the sanding marks are parallel to the hull direction.
then a quick spray of outdrive paint.
i sanded mine, never painted though. mine is in saltwater, but i always rinse after and no problems in 2 seasons.

Thanks for the input. The zinc is holding up better than the ride plate. The rear has been partially in the water on one of those blue pads. Fresh water. Outdrive paint just might work. Thanks again.
