Damn this is hard work. Worth it in the end. This is the Before and After on wet sanding and buffing the bottom of the '02 GTX I am refurbishing. Engine is out and most of the gas removed. Good time to turn her on its side. I am using sand tubes and chocks to keep her up on its side.

Fear not! The setup is pretty sturdy thanks to the sandbags. I am using 400, 800, and then 1200 paper. Dry and then wetsand. All 3M products from that point on a Porter Cable polisher. 3 Steps - super duty compound (05954), perfect-it II compound (05973), finesse-it II (0592, and finally Mothers cleaner wax. Works pretty good, but takes patience and time.

Has this been shown to gain speed or just cosmetics?
