    Raider 1100 problems

I have a buddy who dropped his 1100 off for me to check why it is'nt running. 1st, when I turned it over it just click, click, clicked...he said he just replaced the starter relay and it was clicking..I pull the plugs out and they were almost fused to the head. Amazing.

I am afraid that the starter is Kaput, not sure, but I am also worried that the engine will not turn over. I have'nt pulled the head. This should be fun, since it is a freebie.

Does anyone have a 1100 starter relay? I might even need to send this engine off to (((shudder))) SBT...oh, boy. The investigation has just started...........

you can bypass the relay by jumping it across the terminals but i would see if I could spin the motor at the coupler with the plugs out first

No, no..I am just documenting this project. I need a starter relay, I ohmed the old one out and it is done.

When you bypass the relay it is bad for the brushes in the starter motor to put straight voltage on it non-fused. I will try again tonight...reminds me of a Blaster I worked on a few years ago..it's got that "mystery" about it. I would like to know the history of this unit. The plugs...good Lord they were horrible. I just hope after further inspection it won't have to be re-built, I'll know more tonight. Yuk.

Did you check the liner for swelling, rusty yami tech

Jumping the relay is safe, there isn't any fuse on the high amp side anyhow.
