    Thermostat question

I have my exhaust, IC, and SC out of my RXP. Looks like now would be a good time to change the thermostat. I was thinking of getting the Riva based on cost.
    Question
    Where to drain coolant?
Is the preformance of the Riva good enough for highly moded craft?
Anyone have problems with the riva?

    thanks

    Questions
Where is best place to drain or siphon the coolant from?
How much does it hold, or how much should I expect to retrieve?
Is the preformance of the Riva good enough for highly moded craft?

    thanks
I believe the best palce to drain coolant from is the small screw in the back of the ride plate. lowest point in the cooling system

you drain the coolant from the 5 mm allen head plug in the back of the ride plate.

buy 2 gallons of prestone 50/50 antifreeze. you won't use all of it.

the riva and rotax racing thermostat are the same 158 degrees

thanks larry, I saw that write up when you posted it. I am not very good when it comes to being easy, careful, or light on pressure, so I am concerned about tearing something up.
Plus I figure if I do not buy something here at Jerry,s store then I will get kicked off, or bad advice, or possiblly no advice at all.

I have had the luxory of selling somethings used here, and bought some used here, so I think I will repay this weekend and buy rude reg, riva thermo, and 3 blade prop for my rude daddy.
Not to mention I am waiting anxiously for my gh waterbox and rude charger.
My RXP is under the knife, I just hope she shows up when shes put back together.

I do apprecite all your write up on mods. And this one is a definite money saver, that i would do. But, every time i take something apart like that and try to glue it back together, it just does not seem to work for me.
