boyd coddington passed away today
World-renowned tuner and hot rod king Boyd Coddington died at 6:20 am this morning. The cause of death is still unknown. Coddington, founder of Boyds Wheels and designer of prize-winning custom cars, had recently been hospitalized twice for an undisclosed medical condition.

It's a very sad day...he will be missed without question. Total pioneer in the Hot Rod industry and perfectionist. Horrible loss.
I grew up around hot rods/drag racing....my dad was featured in hot rod magazine may/1962 and others. He held a track record @ Fremont Drag Strip and also died @ a young age - 42 Machinist/Perfectionist as well.
Guys like this can teach you soooooo much.

Sad to hear this, what a loss to the hot rod community. I guess that's why "American Hot Rod" didn't come back this year.

Damn.... 2 legends in one day.
Boyd Coddington & Myron Cope (Not as well known, but he was the legendary Steelers announcer. He is credited with the famed Terrible Towel)
