    Turbo guys...I have a question...

I want to know for a friend....What needs to be done to the J-Pipe for the turbo install....I know the 3 holes at the end of it need to be plugged to avoid water in the turbo....what else?

What are all the lines that go to the J-Pipe? Close to the exhaust manifold there is one line on top and one on the bottom....Then on the top bend there is another line...and I think theres another one too....Do you have to keep em all?

I totally ditched the j-pipe and made my own rigid pipe.

All the lines attached to the j-pipe are for the water system. The 2 at the front are water inlets from the exhaust manifold. The 1 on top has 2 purposes: 1) bleed air out of the high spot during normal operation and 2) allow flush water in when running on a hose. Then, all the water that doesn't exit the high-point bleed goes through the 3 holes into the waterbox.

I kept all these connections on mine except the 3 water injection holes. I ran 2 outlet lines from the i-pipe to the downpipe, which is where I inject it into the exhaust. You MUST inject water into the exhaust before any of the silicon couplers. Probably closer to the turbine is best.

well i dont exactly get it, but from what i understand water goes in from the top two holes. then at the T water exits and goes to the pipe exiting the turbo exaust and then im not sure where the other one goes.

There are 2 hoses you can't see in that pic. I'll try to explain better:

The pipe connecting the turbo to the exhaust manifold has 4 NPT connections for water:

2 water inlets - These supply water to it from the exhaust manifold. In the close-up pic, you can see one of these in the lower left hand corner.

    2 water outlets:
    - 1 has a brass tee. You can see this one in the close-up pic on the right side. One leg goes to the flush port connection on the transom/pump. The other leg goes to the turbo downpipe and sprays in.
    - 1 goes directly to the turbo downpipe and sprays in.

Where the water sprays into the downpipe, I probably made that more elaborate/complicated than it needed to be. I actually made a very short jacketed section where the water sprays in through about a dozen holes all around the pipe. You could probably just spray it in 2 places.

How much did you paid for the pipe if I may ask? Or you did it yourself too?

I did it myself and paid over $200 just for the materials. It's all stainless steel and that stuff is expensive.
