    Primer/paint question

I'm repainting a 1100 stx and I got the primer to thick now in order to get it slick I have had to sand some of it completely down to the orginal gelcoat. My question is if I do sand some pretty good size spots down to the gelcoat but if it is still nice and slick will this show up(spots) when I paint it?The reason being it had blistered pretty bad in some spots so I ground them out and filled the holes with epoxy, then used high build primer.

It shouldnt show depending on the paint you are using.

The more important question is what type of primer are you using?

It's high build primer by omni/ppg urethan comes with a actovator/harder.I did this because the hull was so ruff dues to the blistering in the footwells and on the bottom.I wish now that I would have just used regualr old primer this stuff ain't cheap.

you don't half to use it but sometimes it saves big headaches if you used a 2 part primer you probably will be allright talk to your paint shop to be sure. if you break thru the primer to the gelcoat while sanding thats where it might blister.primer sealer comes ready to spray and dont take much prep just paint over.
