    Jet Pump sealing....

I pulled the pump to send the impeller off. I had removed it before and used yamabond to do the reinstall. I am in the process of trying to clean off all the old yamabond but finding it to be a pain in the butt. Wanted to see what anyone might recommend for removal of the old sealant/gasket material. I want to get it all off to make sure I get a good seal when I reinstall. Thanks for any help.

I use a "cupped" shape, soft wire brush that fits an electric drill. It comes with a 1/4 inch shank, works great. The soft wire is best, will not damage the aluminum, and eats sealant up like it was candy. Sears, w-mart, most automotive places should have them. I get mine from Sears, and they last forever. Get the small one, about 1-1/2 inch diameter for tight places.

Can you post pics after your shoe is installed? I'd like to compare the depth the shoe will sit compared to mine.

    Regards,

Sorry man, but my shoe is already sealed in. I was referring to the jet pump itself that comes out of the back of the ski.
